# Wonderful week with family — 2022-08-09 10:31 We were lucky enough to happen upon this cottage for a 3 generation cottage retreat. The cottage was spacious, well appointed and lovely, lots of space and seating for everyone. The kids loved the dock to jump and swim off, and it also provided decent fishing for kids and adults alike. The lake was quiet, and great to explore by canoe. The family of loons added to the atmosphere. There is no WiFi which was not a concern, but be warned there is barely any cell reception as well, don’t plan to get any work done here, not that you should, it’s supposed to be a vacation. We had a wonderful time, and would definitely consider a return trip.

# Lovely Lake — 2022-08-01 17:57 The cottage was just the ticket for our family reunion. Grandson caught fish for his dinner twice. The water was warm and lovely for swimming. And the chipmunks and squirrels will eat right out of your hand. My son and grandson live in Hawaii, they do not have deer, chipmunks, squirrels, or loons. We saw them all they were delighted

Had a nice bonfire down by the lake. Very close to Haliburton, but totally in its own world. Kitchen was very well equipped with a very quiet dishwasher. Lots of hot water and excellent water pressure

# Relaxing Family Vacation — 2021-07-29 15:04 Thanks Anthony and family for use of your great cottage. We had a great and relaxing time at the cottage with my family. The cottage was clean and provided all the amenities we needed. It was very quiet and really enjoyed using the canoe and paddle boat everyday out on the lake and swimming plus some fishing. The only downside were the bugs but it could have been time of the year we went (end of June) so make sure to have lots of bug spray and should be fine. I would recommend to anyone looking for a great cottage experience.

Haliburton was very close by for a quick run into town for supplies we needed. The lake was very quiet with plenty of fish. This is definitely a place to come back to again.

Big windows and a vaulted ceiling offers load of room to think, nap or gaze at the huge back yard. Lots to do, including kayaking, canoeing, swimming, family games and a huge porch to bbq or just relax and watch the sunset. Hope to visit again next year. Thanks for being a great host Anthony!
# Great Cottage — 2019-07-15 15:57 Perfect cottage for a relaxing family vacation. The cottage itself is spacious and well equipped with 3 levels of sleeping areas and 3 bathrooms, as well as a washer/dryer to keep all of your towels clean. Beautiful setting on quiet lake with no motors, we spent most of our time on the dock, in the shade of a nice pine tree. There is plenty of sun as well on the swim raft. It’s a perfect lake for canoes and kayaks, we pretty much had the lake to ourselves. If you are looking for a peaceful, serene setting, this is ideal.
It was a pleasure dealing with Anthony, you won’t find a nicer owner.

Anthony has taken the time to appoint the cottage with everything you will need for a great time as well as lots of items to keep the kids and adults entertained. A quiet and relaxed environment, great fishing for the kids. We had one small issue and the owner addressed it immediately and with the consideration and care that many of us have not come to expect from a customer service relationship. Thank you Anthony for a wonderful time. We would gladly recommend your property to anyone.

Anthony was patient and helpful – he opened to our request to change the staying date, advised us where the rice cooker is after realizing us are Chinese.
The Sunset & Sun rise was gorgeous, the cottage/beach face to the south side so you can see sun/moon rise from your left side and the sun set on the right side, no blocking when you sit comfortably on the dock/swim raft.
The direction was clearly labelled so you do not need to panick when you cannot find the address from Google map, you will not miss it.
Haliburton everything you need, Fishing rod, tape, warms/daily license from outdoorplus (very cool store, also have guns, cross bow if you got license). There is also a skyline park that you can veiw the beautiful landscape of highland east (less than 20 mins)
The deposit was returned in the same day with no problem.
All in all, I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a cottage trip.
# Lovely getaway — 2017-08-19 22:49 We had a relaxing and enjoyable one week family holiday this August. We lucked out with great weather! There were plenty of activities for our four children; including boating, swimming, exploring islands and sitting by the campfire. The cottage was beautiful and very relaxing. We had a wonderful stay on a quiet and clean lake. We also enjoyed visits from the turtle along the shoreline. The loon family was lovely to watch and some great fishing! We would highly recommend this cottage for anyone looking for a quiet and peaceful getaway! Thanks!

# Wonderful Vacation! — 2016-08-31 21:39 Thank you Anthony for renting us your beautiful peaceful cottage! We all had a wonderful time kayaking and canoeing. The location of the cottage is very private and the lake is fun to explore with a few small islands to paddle around and lots of wildlife to see. We saw an otter, a family of loons, two great blue herons, pileated woodpeckers and a black bear.
We highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking to get away from the busyness of life for some peace and quiet and relaxation time.
We came as a family group of eight people, and we all agreed that we had a fantastic vacation!

The cottage was well equipped, spacious and had sufficient overhead and floor fans to keep us comfortable during a major heat wave.
Would love to have been able to extend our stay for another two weeks since it was such an enjoyable experience.

We used the canoe, kayak and paddle boat on this beautiful lake. We had camp fires in the evening under the bright stars and heard the loons in the mornings and evenings. It was a great time!

Swimming was also fantastic and the Canoe & Paddle boat got lots of use. A very relaxing week for the adults and lots adventures for the kids. Would love to return again one day!

The cottage is open and spacious, with full amenities for cooking and dining. The cottage boasts an ideal waterfront with good swimming and a canoe and paddleboat for fishing and touring the lake. There are plentiful small mouth to over 3 pounds bass in the lake. Anthony is ever helpful and accommodating.

It is a mystery, yearly they will just appear, I guess it is part of cottage living as we are in the midst of woods. It is never an issue with mosquito and black fly. (The issue is now resolved after applying sealant around all the windows)

The lake is generally warm and it was much quieter than others we’ve visited due to the lack of motorized watercraft zipping about. We favoured the canoe for morning and evening exploring when the lake became so still it was like glass. Loons were very prevalent, we could have sat on the dock for hours if we hadn’t gone swimming so much. We loved the location as well as the generous waterfront. Wildlife is prolific but the bugs weren’t! It was the perfect place to rest and escape the city. Many thanks to Anthony, a well-organized, helpful owner who ensured our stay was beyond expectations. Highly recommend this cottage!
# Amazing family vacation — 2015-07-13 22:59 My family and I had an amazing week at this beautiful cottage. It was so much more then we could have hoped for. Calling it a cottage doesn’t seem right as it is much more like a summer home. It is beautiful, clean and I believe the most peaceful lake we have ever cottaged on. The cottage has plenty of room and beautiful views! The neighbours are very friendly. The fishing was awesome!!!!! lots of fish to catch whether with live bait or lures. My daughter loved the swimming and said it was fantastic. We enjoyed exploring the lake using the different boats available… there is definitely something for everyone here. The bugs were on the bad side this year, but that seems to be every where this season. We recommend taking extra bug spray and long clothes for night time campfires or other activities. They bugs do seem to let up later at night around 10 p.m. Thank you Anthony and family for sharing your wonderful summer home with us!!! We loved every moment!

# Beautiful Cottage — 2014-09-06 18:21 We enjoyed our week at this lovely cottage and I enjoyed my conversations with the owner – Anthony. He seems to be a genuinely kind person. The cottage is beautiful, spacious and well equipped. My husband and sons enjoyed fishing and found that the dock proved to be an ideal place to catch fish – with and without bait! This beautiful, quiet lake is a safe place to swim and canoe. Everyday we canoed and kayaked to the opposite end of the lake. The lake is so serene that we found times when we hear absolutely no sound – it was so amazingly peaceful. We saw humming birds, turtles, chipmunks, deer and lots of fish. We look forward to returning.

Inside the cottage, it is clean, comfortable and well-stocked that you will find everything you need for the holiday. The pine interior also adds the rustic feel and look to the cottage.
This is the place to be if you desire tranquility and a breathtaking nature retreat from the face-paced world.

There is lots of space, the kitchen has everything you need, the BBQ works well, DVD and big-screen TV are great for evenings or wet days. # Peaceful Nature Retreat — 2014-08-10 20:30 We just returned from a week’s vacation at this cottage. Anthony went out of his way before and during our stay to ensure that we had everything that we needed. The cottage is well stocked and very comfortable with lots of space for sleeping. We enjoyed seeing all the wildlife, sitting on the deck and reading, canoeing & kayaking around the motor restricted lake (it is larger than most motor restricted lakes that we have visited), fishing (my husband caught dinner one night) and having fires in the very safe fire pit. We also did some bike riding on a nearby rail trail and on the roads, though the roads are very hilly and the trail is, unfortunately, shared by ATVs which makes the surface lose for bike riding. Overall this vacation was exactly what we were looking for. We hope to be back next summer!

Our first thought was, “the website pictures don’t do the cottage justice” probably because it’s difficult to capture a sense of comfort and connection to the surroundings in a photograph. Walking in through the front door, my family immediately felt at home — there’s a feeling of love that went into the construction of the cottage.
We cooked a lot, caught plenty of fish including a 2lb largemouth bass, explored the tranquil waters in a canoe, breathed the clean air, followed many birds such as cooper’s hawks, an owl and playful hummingbirds, and enjoyed the evening solitude under some magnificent starry skies.
There’s a Serbian proverb that fits perfectly here: “Be humble for you are made of earth. Be noble for you are made of stars”.
Thank you, again, for reminding us how beautiful life is when we take a moment to remember.

# Truly relaxing — 2014-07-26 16:24 This cottage is a gem. It has all of the comforts of home, and we were very comfortable there during our week long stay.
The waterfront is large, and very peaceful. The water is great for swimming, both the kids and adults enjoyed jumping from the dock! The paddle boat, kayak and canoe were perfect for exploring the lake.
The cottage and grounds are even more beautiful than the pictures online, and we would recommend this cottage to anyone who is looking for a relaxing cottage vacation.

# Contentment — 2014-07-07 15:09 We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your cottage. We were very impressed with the peaceful surroundings and the wildlife. Even as far north as we have travelled in Ontario, we have not seen the frequency of deer, turtles and other critters that have made your area their home – something that you and your fellow owners should be proud to have maintained that balance.
Personally, I enjoyed canoeing without the noise of motorboats. As “quite” cool as the water was in early June, I thoroughly enjoyed short but refreshing swims each day and sitting on the swim raft to read.
As a suggestion, maybe easier access to the water from shore for swimming would be nice.

The cottage itself is clean and spacious and provides all the amenities of home. The children delighted in endless hours jumping off the new swim dock. Utilizing the picnic area at the shoreline was our best option, The paddle boat gave us the opportunity to explore this lovely lake. With the village of Haliburton only a short drive away, the area provided us with great options for dining, live theater, movies, studio tours, hiking trails,shopping and many local scheduled events. I would definitely recommend this wonderful cottage experience to everyone . Note that the owner is very conscientious in his efforts to ensure that your stay is enjoyable. Amidst great walks, quiet canoe rides around the small lake – no motor boats so is nice and quiet. Great wildlife – deer, turtles, birds. The cottage is more like a home than a cottage. – great fireplace for cooler nights – nice DVD with large screen TV for movie nights – all around a great place to stay.

# Missionary — 2013-03-12 12:01 This place truly is a heavenly treasure! I am a long -term missionary, serving in Africa and this is the ideal place to come away and rest. I have stayed at the cottage several times and enjoy the peace, quiet, close to town, places to walk and kayaking. I would recommend this cottage to anyone but if you have small children you would need to stay close as the shoreline drops off quite quickly and there is no beach area for the kids to play. I am blessed to be able to have enjoyed this piece of heaven and I know you will too!
# Quiet peaceful family vacation!!!! — 2013-02-04 11:51 What a wonderful cottage for a family vacation. Lots of space and very clean. Quiet lake with lots to explore. The kids enjoyed exploring in the forest and biking around the area. The only thing they could add to the cottage is a swim raft to allow the kids to jump into the water and maybe a sand area close to the shore. The shoreline is rocks and lilly pads which was fun for the kids to explore for frogs and fish. LOTS of great fishing, you can catch fish right off the dock. My son caught his first fish (two pound small mouth bass) right from the dock. Friendly and considerate family who rent the cottage as well! I would recommend it for sure and even more if they add a swim raft!! Thanks for a great holiday.

I’ve now installed an 8′ x 8′ Swim Raft that the kids could jump off. In addition I’ve connected or linked the swim raft to the main dock for easy access. The main dock is now extended to over 40 feet in length, great for fishing and relaxing.
